Pete, according to information I have received from descendents of both companies, JP Thewalt and JW Remy operated for some time up until around 1925 as a family operation. Your handle can be found on both JP Thewalt steins and JW Remy steins. The decoration colors are consistent. One thing I notice is that the PT mark does not have the period above the "T" which is unusual. I don't have an explanation but I have seen it before. I would date your piece to probably 1900 to around 1925.
