Ken, I have a White's Pottery book that shows a few of their wares. If a stein is shown with a lid, it is pewter. However, I suspect a lot of them were sold without lids. The owner could then have a custom lid made. A silver plated lid would have been more expensive back then and if it were in good shape it should be more expensive today. Unlike pewter where aging is desirable, a collector would want the silver to be in good shape. If it had to be refinished, that would reduce the price. By 35, do you mean that is the mold number? Ron
