After a lifelong (passive) interest in steins, I am trying to get educated and start building a collection (this site is a wonderful resource). I want to try to begin with quality steins and find a focus (from other antique collecting, what I've found makes for a satisfying hobby). To this end, I am thinking of tying-in with my other interests, cycling or military history. As regimental steins are very highly sought (and thus expensive), I am thinking of trying to find cycling-themed steins. I have read that athletic themes are common in 1900'ish German steins and that steins depicting cycling can be found. However, as Google has not turned-up much, I am wondering if quality cycling-related antique steins do occassionally appear and, if so, whether they can be purchased reasonably inexpensively (say, $150 or less)? I would be grateful to hear any opinions and learn from those who know about such things. Dave
