It wasn't the lack of money on SCI's part that caused the problem. The backups were to be on the host server. It was part of the service.
The host company was recently sold and equipment was changed. Our site was also moved to another server. It was the fault of many things that caused the failure of SteinTalk. None of which could have been forseen by the webmaster or myself.
True, an "extra" backup on SCI's part would have been useful but, as Walt and I are are the only two who haved worked on the site (for the last 3 years), we don't have the personal equipment to do so. Our work is voluntary - not compensated.
During the whole time, I never received an offer of help to repair the site. I cannot speak for Walt.
I am happy that SteinTalk is back online and am sure that we'll have the other small glitches gone in the near future. If there are any folks out there who know a lot about Front Page server-side extensions, please feel free to contact us!
