Greg,

There is a mark with the initials "SKM" included in Stein Manufacturer's Marks. You can access that article in the Library section and then click on page 16. The mark is a bird with wings spread inside a circle. The "S" and "M" appear on the wings and the "K" appears on the body. The mark is identified as J. Scharvogel of Munich and was used from 1906-13 (Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain: 1710 to the Present printed 1981 gives the date of the mark as 1898-1913). I'm not acquainted with their steins, can you post pictures if that is the mark?

Ron
