I have been trying for years to find information on this stein as well as find the translation from Germen to English that is on stein. Have tried with Germen to English translator on net but it is not all translated. The stein is not marked anywhere and at the top has 1/2 L. mark on it. It is porcelain. There is germen written on it as follows, "Schone braune Feres (or maybe a Teres) gabe ist des Menscheu beste habe" There is a traven scene that you can see when held up to the light. It appears to be 2 women sitting with what appears to be a soldier with a rifle on his shoulder. The color on the outside of the stein is wonderfully bright and I just love it! But would like to know what it is. I have posted pics at http://www.picturetrail.com/mawmawdarla Any help with information on age and translation would make my day!! Thanks, Saundra Dowling
