It is possible that this stein was made by Mathias Girmscheid. That firm was noted for figural lids without a pewter ring and a twisted vine handle. Are there any artist initials on the stein, such as KB or GK? Is there a capacity mark, such as 2,0 L? The figural on the lid looks like Perkeo. Picture 3 wasn't big enough to read the inscription on the stein, but does it have anything to do with Heidelberg?
