I was wondering if you could possibly send me in the right direction, although I realize this is not exactly what your forum is about, in my research you seem to keep popping up and seem well versed in the stein area. In cleaning out of some of my fathers belongings I have come across a stein. In order to find out if it is something to keep or hand off to another family memeber I searched to find what the numbers and stamps on the bottom were all about...hence, how I found you.....The stamp on the bottom of the stein is what I believe to be Marzi and Remy (Hohr) and is the earlier version which according to the information I have found at stein international to be from between 1879-1964...the picture on the stein shows two men and a woman sitting at a table with one of the men raising his stein in what maybe a toast, the background is a deep blue shade. The pewter top is a little fancy but in comparison to some I have seen rather simple. the other marks on the bottom all of which or Incised are the following:E ,either a 6 or a 9 depending on how it is held and another stamp that has a deffinate 216 with possibly another 1 in front but hard to tell if it belongs there as it is a bit off to the side.
Do you have any idea what I have here??? as I do not....perhaps just a type of pictorial I could look to thru to find this? I know it may sound awful but we are not close at all to my fathers family since his passing 32 years ago, and now with children of my own it would be a shame to pass on a treasure that I should of saved for them.
