A photo would help some. The stein you describe sounds like one made by Schierholz in Plaue. It was also reproduced in the 1980's using the original molds. Values range from about $2,500* to $400 based on which one you have. If it is damaged or repaired, the value is quite a bit less.

* Could be higher based on the color.

The older one would be best sold through Gary Kirsner or Andre Ammelounx, both of whom are linked to the SCI site.

Musterschutz simply means that the design was copyrighted. Your stein should have a # (tic tac toe) mark on the bottom. If it was "signed" D. Wagner, it is the new one.
