Linda,

I'm not aware of Anheuser-Busch making steins in the 1880s. Their Collector's Guide says they started making them in the 1950s and 1960s and didn't produce in significant numbers until the mid-1970s. The second and final edition in the American Original Series was a Faust stein. Adolphus Busch created it for his friend and restaurant owner Tony Faust. There were two editions, CS330 limited to 5,000 and CS330 GOLD limited to 1,000. These were individually numbered, had a certificate of authenticity, were bottom stamped and came in a gift box. The issue year was 1997 and the steins were made by Ceramarte in Brazil. Visit http://www.donnas-place.com/cgi-bin/bud_steins_result.pl?number=cs330 to see the stein. Is this the stein you were asking about?
