I agree, Ron. All my steins that are attributed to M&Z have the black paint all around the top part of the handle. I also have a couple of steins that have brown paint. No makes mark, just mold number. Anyone have any info on these steins? I have one called my mystery stein. It has the brown paint around the top of the handle, not black. The handle looks like a Marzi& Remy handle. It has the tan and green colors on the body of the stein favored by Mathias Girmsheid. The bottom is marked with the upturned curved GERMANY that Hanke used. I hope someone can help identify this stein. I can send photos if you like. Ken.
