Ken,

David Harr has speculated that Rudi (that is the spelling I have seen in articles) Decker may not have worked exclusively for Girmscheid. This is based on an "RD" signed piece that also has the word "Germany" in an inverted arc. This is a design used by and identified with the firm of Reinhold Hanke. Is "Germany" in an inverted arc stamped on the bottom of your stein? Is there a mold number? If you have such a stein, Les Hopper would probably like to have a picture for his catalog of Girmscheid steins so he can autheniticate a possible exception for this artist. Hanke may have used the brown coloring at the top of some of their steins that were produced for Steinzeugwerke.
