Last month I asked for help from you knowledgeable Mettlach collectors about a stein, number 2204 with a hairline crack. Your responce was great and very helpful. If one holds this stein in the right hand, the crack is on the inside just right of the handle. The crack runs down the inside from the top of the body over 1" but less than 2", it cannot be seen or felt from the outside. The seller will go as low as $300. This seems about right for this stein. I'm looking for some wisdom. As I begin to be a more serious collector/buyer of steins, I don't want to get into a habit of buying damaged steins. One responce in Jan. said it is not uncommon for this stein to be sold from time to time. I understand you cannnot tell me to buy or not. Your opinions would be valuble. Thanks Dana Bear
