My Mother in law hails from Czechoslovakia, and brought these pewter cups/steins here. She is 56 and says she's had them for as long as she can remember, and that they were old even when she received them. Of course, I am well aware that everyone likes to believe they have something that is older than it really is. I have been trying to search on Gesetzlich Geschutzt (marked on bottom of cups), but have had no luck in finding an english website with information. She has 5 cups/goblets/steins, all solid pewter that depicts remarkable artwork and pictures made into the pewter. The largest of the cup has a woman serving a man at a table, and on the other side the writing "Keinan Tropfen im Becher Mehr Und den Beutel schlaf und leer, Lechzend Herz und Zunge Angethan hat mirs dein Wein, leiner Augen heller Schein, Lindenwirtin, du junge." The other 4 cups feature pictures in the pewter of different sites, 1st cup says "glockenspiel" under a large tower, has picture of Mozart and his name, says "Schloss Anie" over a large building, and "Salzburg" under what looks to be a small town. 2nd cup features "Rosstrappe" over a horse jumping from mountain to mountain?, Brocken, and a lot of other things. other cup features Coat of arms with viribus unitis written, Maria Teres a enkmal, Stefanskirche, and Rathaus. Could someone PLEASE (I'm BEGGING) help me find information about this manufacturer or these pewter cups? Maybe I can get her off my back about finding out about them...she doesn't speak english very well so I have the honor of searching!
