Hi~ I posted the following questions weeks ago and received no replies. With no markings I realize it's difficult to go out on a limb and take a stab at identifying. BUT, anyone willing to give me an idea what it "looks" like it "may be". Who the maker "could be", or what era this style was prevelant so that I can start researching with some sort of starting ground to work from. HELP!!!!!!!!!! :o) I would appreciate ANY comments at all. Full Identification is neither a must or expected. Value at this point is irrelevant. THANKS!>>>>>>>>>>>>OLD POST>>>>>>>>
Hello,
I just came across this site in search of finding an ID on a stein I have had for several years. I have done periodic searches in hopes of finding some answers to no avail. Here is a brief description. Hopefully my pictures will successfully post as well.

The stein stands 6 1/2" tall, and at it's widest point is approx 4" side to side. All decoration is done in high relief. Not sure if it is applied decoration or has been carved from a thickened vessel. The Cherubs stand out in relief as much as 1/8 th of an inch from the main surface and are quite well done as you can see in the pics. The motif is that of flying, running, sitting and chariot riding cherubs picking and wreathing flowers.

The glaze is very thinly applied and has an allover crazing. As seen in the pic of the base there is no legible mark if any at all. The glaze has flaked off a number of areas, mostly on the base. The underlying medium is a white clay with a slight off color yellow tint making this appear to be very old?.

As to condition...there are a few minor chips, actually the only full fledged chip is at the rim of the mouth as shown in the pics. The other areas are more defined as a flaking of the thin glaze, mainly at the base. I believe there was once a lid due to the presence of a hole in the handle and wear to the inner mouth or neck area.
So anyone have a clue? circa, and maker or country origin being most important. Value I understand is dependent on the current market, rarity and condition. Thanks, I look forward to hearing any feedback.
