Great job by Pat to recognize the correct term. I was certain that "Fern" was the root of the problem, but couldn't get past it.
This exercise is an excellent illustration of the difficulty of translation between English and German. Not only do the words appear in sentence structure in different order in the two languages, but when translating rhymed verse it is unlikely that a word for word substitution will be of much use. A much better approach is to try to get the sense of the verse or couplet, and then express the same thought in more lyrical English terminology. Again, this verse demonstrates the wisdom of that approach.
Two further observations: Think of the effort it takes to read Shakespeare. Many of the words are obscure, and the structure awkward. Second point: The word "email" which means "enamel" in German, is translated by some of the translation software as "email", or possibly worse "electronic message". Thus one may find an enameled Krug turned into a vessel with email.
