As a relative new stein collector, I have found a lot of enjoyment in the history and collecting of this fine art. But the glass steins have got me talking to myself. I really can not figure out how values are assigned to the ruby/cranberry flashed etched steins. I have read the info in "The Beer Stein Book" and visited the Beer Stein Library, used Andre Ammelounx auctions as a reference, as well as other sources and it stll seems very vague. As an example "The Beer Stein Book" 2000 edition second printing pg. 194 features several glass steins valued at over $1000.00. Item c on this page ($2500 -$3500) is similar to other steins I have seen (and own) valued at much less. I have learned a lot from this site and am hoping that someone can help with either an explaination of how values are arrived at, or directing me to a source where I can make some sense of it all.
