The fveatures I described are general features for general time periods. Styles didn't change like turning on and off a switch. A picture of the stein would help, but the description says it is a typical blue and grey saltglaze 1/2 liter stein. It could date from 1869 to about 1880 from your description. I don't see that it would matter from a value standpoint. We might be able to narrow down who made it. Is the capacity mark 1/2 or 0,5? Is the capacity mark on the front or back by the handle. If the handle has a leafy pattern down the back it could be Hanke, Gerz, Regensburg, or even Freising. Are there any marks at all on the bottom and I mean ANY marks. Stamps, initials, etc. Is the bottom flat or is it slightly recessed?
