Your stein came from West Germany, see http://www.westerwald-keramik.de/kingwerk.htm, for the home page of the manufacturer. This is a contemporary, post-WWII, manufacturer of steins. The German verse says "A cheer to the noble liquor (wetness) from a cool barrel." The Library section has a reference on translations, which included this translation.
