we have found a stein which we think is from the august saelzer factory. it it is the same design as the one shown on www.beerstein.net/library.asp section - non-mettach ceramic stein (1850 - 1935), august saelzer factory, last bottom rt hand photo.(article taken from prosit vol 2 no 28, dec 1996) on the base are the intertwined letters AS, and number 144. the pewter lid is engraved in ? german and depicts 5 men around a table drinking and playing cards. we would appreciate any comments.
