Casy,

It is a nice looking stein. The opening bid is not unreasonable and normally should have drawn a bid. However, there really is no need to bid early as you don't need to get anybody's attention. Sure the first high bid will win, but you also take the chance that you attract someone to run your price up.

A few thoughts on your listing. One, the pictures are small and don't allow the bidder to see a lot of the detail, including the artist's initials. Two, you say the pewter lid is excellent, but only talk about the wear on the handle of the stein. Most collectors would prefer mint condition, although the flaw with the handle is not serious. You should comment on the condition of the remainder of the body and state your return policy. Three, you should show a picture of the markings on the bottom so there is no doubt on the maker.

Relief steins are not as popular as etched steins with collectors and that may account for no early bids. I think you will see some bidding. Whether you sell it will depend on your reserve. I wouldn't expect a bid of more than $150.

Just one collector's thoughts. I hope it is useful.
