Burksa,

You need to post a photo to get help with what you have. It the name is engraved on the front of the lid, it could be the owner's name. Lithophane, the picture in the bottom, are only found on porcelain steins. The picture if formed by varying the thickness of the paste in the bottom so that a strong light will show the picture. Some newer pottery steins have had the bottom removed so that a glass insert with a picture can be replaced in the bottom. This is not a true lithophane. Gruss aus Nurnberg means Greetings from Nurnberg, indicating this is a souvenir stein. Photos will be needed for further help. You should also indicate the size (capacity) and condition.
