After maling a similar complaint to Ebay, they sent me a reply stating that the seller has no obligation to sell an item to a bidder. While my bid is supposed to be binding, they didn't even say that the seller has a good faith obligation to sell an item, much less it being an obligation under ebay rules. I've done much less bidding since.
