This is a common type stein. Cobalt is generally favored for the background color. However, during WWI cobalt was diverted to the war effort and green became the preferred color. My guess is that this was made in the early 1900s, probably during WWI. The lid is damaged and crudely reattached with a pin. It doesn't have much value. There is no maker's mark to identify the maker.
