Hi Peaches, So far, the identity of the manufacturer is unknown. There is a series of these narrow bodied porcelain steins. Inaddition to this piece there is a student fox, a black student, a monk and a nun. Often the pewter shank, between the hinge and the strap around the handle is stamped with the letters "LBCM." The "M" moore than likely stands for Munich and the "LBC" the name of the finishing shop that decorated and assembled the stein, the parts of which were purchased from an unknown factory. There is a series of stoneware character steins that are marked "LB&C" that were manufactured by Hauber & Reuther of Freising and assembled by LB&C. I believe that LB&C and LBCM are one and the same, but have no actual proof at this time. John
