Phönicia is named according an antique tribe situated in the present Lebanon. These people are famous for their merchandising skills. Phönicia, founded by students at a higher commercial school, therefor took this name. The "medical" sign in the crest ist the Merkurstab, the insigna of the antique god of commercial affairs. You also find this sign as a part of the Villeroy & Boch logo on some antique mettlach steins. Prosit. Hubert Kampik
