Faith, Your stein was manufactured by Villery and Boch in the city of Mettlach, Germany at about the time frame was 1840 to 1880. If you click on the Library section in SCI and scroll down to an Introduction of Mettlach Steins, and click it you will have some information on this factory. Your Stein is known as EARLY WARE manufactured by Villery and Boch by stein collectors. Hope this is helpful
