Last week I asked about the value of this Mettlach stein because of the pewter lid it has. I bought the stein at a good price and now I would like to know if the lid is likly to be original. It is unlike the more modern lids as it is less funnel like and does not become ornate til half way up. The thumb lift has a cameo of a childs face. Looking at the stein form the front on the right side of the shank is printed "AUSON" on the left side "MUNCHEN". This lid looks old in style. I hope these clues are heplful to any collector that might know. Thanks for any info
