Frank, Thanks for the reply. My guess was the answere would be just as you gave it, which is the reason for the second question. Is there a place where one might go for a pictorial reference of manufacurers by capacity marks? This would be very helpful if this truly is an effective way of identifying manufacturers. I have several steins that I haven't been able to attribute to a manufacturer. One is a Mettlach look alike that even though I am not sure who made it I am sure it wasn't V&B. The volume mark might make a difference in this and others.
