Ron - The one person I know of who's attempted to make a study of capacity marks as they relate to makers is David Harr. Unfortunately, he's so far been reluctant to publish his conclusions. Why not post photos of your mystery steins here? In all likelihood, one or more of the SteinTalk regulars will be able to provide help with identifying the manufacturers.
