I have two questions which I'm sure you fellow collectors know the answers. What is the correct pronunciation of Mettlach? Also, I received a stein for Christmas which I feel has to be a Mettlach. I've never seen any workmanship more beautiful. There is one on ebay now just like it only with different colors and an inlay lid. The marking is Mettlach #1809. The one I have is a blue background with white figures and tan & brown trim. The only markings are #1157 .20. The lid is pewter with what appears to be a mermaid with two tails on it. I would appreciate any help you may offer. Thanks.
