Hi,
"Bischöfliches Knabenseminar" means "episcopal seminary for boys". Dillingen is a city located in Bavaria, at the river Danube, with about 25.000 inhabitants (not far from my home, by the way, only some 15 miles). If I understood you correctly, the "12" is on the lid? If so, then it probably refers to the year 1912, when the 50th anniversary of the school was celebrated (it was founded in 1862).
