I recently purchased another stein from a flea market and the markings underneath of this Earthenware stein are: A number 2 isolated, a faded inprint stating "GERMANY" and the mold number 1296. No liter info is on the body of the stein. It has an interesting tree branch and leave handle and the scene on the stein is a forest setting with several deer (the scene is outwardly carved).
