Hi all ...

Thanks for all your replies, but I'm still not really convinced :

Eric wrote that the 'D' could stand for 'Dresden'. That could be a possibility like the script 'D' used under a three-tip crown by Helena Wolfson. But that firm would be too old and has long gone out of business as far as I know.

Walt had an interesting comment as that "original" is making an attempt to link the item with something which is to be venerated because of its age. In other words, read "like the original". I agree with that. What puzzles me is that this mark exists on white (undecorated) pieces. Not even gilded ...

... which brings us to the comment that Frank made. Franks post puzzled me even further. Martha Budich, like Helena Wolfson, was a decorator of 'blanks' produced by different companies. I could only find info on her from 1951 to 1963, the year that saw the end of the conflict with Meissen because of the crossed swords (with 'M' and 'B' handles) she used as mark.

The mentioned period from 1962 to 1977 could of course be correct, especially if she changed her business after the Meissen incident. But why the script 'D' ? Trying to misuse the 'Helena Wolfson' type of mark ? And then stating 'Original' ?

I will keep these comments in mind while doing further research. Frank, you seemed quite sure ... info from a book ?

Again, thanks for all the comments.

BTW, if you are looking for German marks, have a look at my page under http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.firmitas.de.

Comments appreciated !

Kind regards from good old Deutschland,

Prost !
