In Axel's very first sentence, he states that he is looking for a link between Mettlach & WEKARA. It seems to me that is his primary question. As a matter of fact, according to Krumeich's great granddaughter WEKARA was a finishing shop and not a stoneware manufacturer. They purchased steins from many sources with their WEKARA mark applied. Apparently Villeroy & Boch/Mettlach was one of their sources. They then applied the pewter and sold the steins through their outlet/s. I think this is the connection Axel was looking for.
