A neighbor got this for me at an estate sale because she thought it was whimsical. It appears to be ceramic with a pewter top/lid. It has scenes of cities/names of Elbbrucke, Jungfernstieg and says Gruss Aus Hamburg. On the bottom of it it has a marking of the letters M above an R. Below that there's a number 890 with what appears to be an apostrophie or the top right quarter of a 2. Both marks and numbers are sunk into the ceramic (it's not a stamp). I am just wondering if it has any value to it, although my friend only paid about $10 for it. The top is tarnished a bit but no chips or scratches. Thanks a bunch. David tachion@roadfly.org
