Marc,
As I'm sure you'll recall, I suggested that your stein may have been made by Girmscheid when you asked me about it on Sunday. Similarly configured body bands can be found on a number of Girmscheid steins, as can the type style of the word "GERMANY" on the base. Unfortunately, in checking through my archive of 61 known Girmscheid handles this morning, as well as 25 known lid inlays, I was unable to find an exact match for either. I did, however, find a "similar" handle.
As for "GK", his identity currently remains a mystery, however, you can check out various configurations of his signature in the article on Girmscheid steins in the Beer Stein Library.
