First, a couple of suggestions for using Stein Talk. Don't piggyback on another post when your question has nothing to do with the post. Start a new thread. Secondly, depend on your answer being on Stein Talk, not to your email address. The purpose of Stein Talk to to share and learn. Can't do either by responding to emails.
Now to your question. While a picture would be much better, your mark sounds like a mark by Reinhold Merkelbach. They used two similar marks to denote a period from 1945-1964, and from 1964-1968.
Go back to the SCI Home Page and click on Library. Scroll all the way down to Marks--A Beginning. Your mark should be there.
Other miscellaneous marks you mention are mold/decoration numbers.
