West/Western Germany was the period from October 1949-October 1990. Your stein appears to have been made during the early part of that period. There seems to be no manufacturer's marks.
Even without the crack your stein's value is very, very modest. With the crack, maybe $10.00 on a very optimistic day.
It's value may lie in the way you obtained it.
