Although it's not marked, the style is almost certainly that of Marzi & Remy. Supporting that conclusion is the fact that the mold number (1849) would have been initially producted by M&R in the mid to late 1930s, which comports with John's timeframe analysis based on the pewter. However, I believe a $50 valuation might be a little on the high side. I've seen similar pieces sell on eBay in the $25-$35 range.
