Hi Jerry. Being a registered member of SCI and the Beer Stein Library has many advantages. Case in point, your Mettlach 2823 is identified in the Beer Stein Library as "etched (tapestry)" style. In perfect condition AND with lid the value range is between $350 and $450. Without the lid, deduct about 40% off the stated value. Apparently this is the norm. Regards, Tony B
