Tony — I'm not sure where you got the information regarding a 40% reduction for a missing lid, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't from the Beer Stein Library. In general, a missing lid will reduce the value by half or more, with greater reductions being applied in relationship to the difficulty of finding the proper replacement. In this case, assuming the body is mint, I'd guess that $150 is about what one could expect from an eBay auction.
