If you've got two pieces that look the same, but which appear to have the two different numbers, the chances are good that they're both #2385, which is a 5-liter, 3-handled "Humpen" (V&B's nomenclature) with relief scenes and a set-on lid. Personally, I'd be more inclined to call it an urn. To the best of my knowledge, the stock number 2885 was not used by V&B/Mettlach.

Because #2385 isn't really a "stein" as that term is generally understood, this site may not be the best place to look for a value, but my guess is that a mint example would bring something in the range of $1,500-$2,000 at auction. - fjl
