Actually this stein is part of the BAVARIA line which was produced at the V&B factory in Mettlach. This line was introduced in the early years of the 20th century, when the artistic taste was changing to the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau aesthetic. In addition to meeting that artistic demand, these pieces were simpler and less costly to produce.
This stein is #3343/548 (form/decoration) and should be so marked on the base. It is pictured in "The Mettlach Book" by Gary Kirsner, who gives an estimated retail value in perfect condition of $600.
