Hi Everybody, I hoped the note above about the founding date of the Thewalt factory MIGHT cause a re-thinking of the attribution, but I guess not. There is nothing about this stein to indicate it might be by Thewalt. It is by Marzi-Remy which makes the date on the lid O.K. The capacity mark, what can be seen of it shows it to be a fraction 1/2 L. by either Merkelbach & Wick, or Marzi-Remy and it is not Merkelbach & Wick. Thewalt half liter steins were marked with 0,5 L. not 1/2 L.
