Hi Shannon, To try and answer the second part of your question, capacity marks and mold number are sometimes missing. Factory marks, quite often. Early Hanke pieces are often found without mold numbers. Only about 1 in 10 steins from the Fritz Thenn, Regensburg factory have capacity marks and a few steins from Freising during the early years can be found with one or more marks missing, or with hand scratched mold numbers. In later years the Freising factory which became HR seldom if ever missed a factory mark and the same can be said for Merkelbach & Wick.
