Hi Shannon, As you noted each manufacturer had their own special place to put the mold number. Most used the bottom of the stein. There are a couple of exceptions, two come to mind right off. Marzi-Remy used the back of the stein as well as the bottom and Merkelbach & Wick always put theirs on the back of the stein, between the handle attachment points.
