Hi. Could someone please help me identify the following stein??? It is 15cm tall, is made of some sort of stone or clay material embossed with vines and cherubs. It also has 3 gold coins/medals around the middle. The first coin/medal has a man's profile and the words: "Koenig V.Bayern Ludwig II". The second coin has a picture of what looks like a palace/temple surrounded by waves/water and the words: "Olympiastadt. Munchen and the third coin has a cote of arms with two lions either side of it and the words: "Freistaat Bayern". These coins/medals are imbedded in the stein and sort of sit on the heads of men/gods with very big moustaches. The bottom of the stein is engraved: "2003" & O KIN and a very deep 3. It is very heavy and the handle is thick. The pewter lid is opened with a ball attached to it and is joined to another pewter "hinge thing" to the handle. The hinge bit on the handle is embossed with: 85 with a sideways diamond next to it, some sort of circle under the 85/diamond and under both it has OBGM. The inside of the stein is very smooth/glossy but bumpy from the outside designs. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated. My email address is lisamjamieson@optusnet.com.au. I would be very interested to know more about this item as my grandmother gave it to me just before she died last September. All I know about it is that she got it from her step-daughter while visiting her in Germany. Thanks again, Lisa.
