Lid replacement with an appropriate lid can reduce the steins value by 10-35%, an improper lid up to 50%. No lid at all will probably set the value at 30% of the original, lower priced version, maybe. So perhaps the stein is now worth $700 assuming it is in perfect condition otherwise.
