I recieved this response from Albert J Thewalt Your stein indeed has been produced by our company about 1900 more or less. The triangle with as cross line only instead of a "T" inside had been used form the beginning of making steins in 1897 until the turn of the century and possibly 2 or 3 years longer. Although the Thewalt company was founded in 1893 by my grandfather, between 1893 and 1897 they only produced some little steins with a capacity of 1/8-1/4 ltr. With the bigger and regular stein-business they started only in 1897 when they hired Wilhelm Kamp-1879-1953 as their designer. He also molded your stein and was employed until 1914, when WWI started. As other designers too in that time, he also used pictures form the famous Tyrolese painter Franz von Defregger 1835-1921 for his relief-decorations. In our archives the stein with the # 147 on the bottom refers to a stein with a capacity of 1 1/2 ltr. The front picture show 2 hunters flirting with a lady. A dog sitting beneath. The title of the picture "Ein frohlich Herz, Heilt allen Scmerz" and means-translated- " A joyful heart heals all pain" . The stein is in mint condition. Does anyone the value of this stein? Thank You
